"Dangerous" Aggravated Assault (stabbing) resolved with probation and ability to earn misdemeanor
August 2018
A Dangerous Aggravated Assault wherein client was charged with stabbing an unarmed person was pled to probation as an undesignated felony (which allows client to earn a misdemeanor designation after successfully finishing probation). There were contradictory statements and credibility issues with the state's witnesses sufficient to warrant this extremely favorably resolution despite the fact that client was charged with an additional felony while the first case was pending (which in and of itself should have mandated prison). Nevertheless, the subsequent offense was also resolved with probation and an undesignated felony status.
